What america does right !!!!!

So the US Embassy organized a cross cultural event between US Jazz musicians and Swazi musicans including Bholoja (who preformed at just the Sunday before at my SSCS event, see the Sunday Oct 2nd blog post)

This event was free to the public and at House on Fire, the best concert/party venue in Swaziland.

And this is truely what America is really good at doing in the world. It was a cross mix of the US musicians singing and performing Swazi music and Bholoja and other Swazi's performing US jazz music.

The US brought a lady singer, guitarist and lucky a NPR had reporting covering the project who was a jazz drummer, so he joined in on the event as a performer also.

So from 8pm til 1am it was just a great mix of music. Bholoja performed several of the same songs and it was nice to have a personal relationship with him because of last weeks event.

I got to hang out with many of the US embassy people and several PC staffers taht we normal don't get to do.

And at one point the dance floor was filled and annoyed me so I found a good spot to just watch and listen to the music.

And when they did Sweet Home Chicago and rocked (or jazzed) it out and the crowd was lovin it. It maybe the first since being over here that I actually missed America.

And this is really the kind of event that America can do right and really promotes what is good about the US. Other than just through aid or government assistance organizations.

The place was packed and one of the funniest moments I have had hear in Swaziland and the perfect break between SSCS and the up coming Social Center project.
