AMICAALL One Pitch, Many People game

So I work for AMICAALL, which has 12 offices in all of the main cities in Swaziland.

Today in Manzini in the big major stadium called Masvuo (not the same stadium that I saw the Swazibank game in). Masvuo is a real stadium holds around 20k is only a couple of years old and has an outstanding view of the city. Design wise it isn't do different that an American one and is probably the size of a large High School Stadium with a really good football team (ie Texas football kind).

So AMICAALL is putting on a game that has the Prime Minister as the "coach" mostly a figure head type of job for this event the team includes 5 Cabinet Ministers (think Obama's cabinet ministers join together to play on a team) along with AMICAALL employees playing against kids from across the country that participated in the Mandela games, girls and boys. Everyone put on the uniforms and they needed a goalie, so I got nominated. For any of you that don't I played goalie all of my playing career up until Freshman year of college and then I moved into coaching goalie when in Chicago. So they put the right man in the right position.

Anyway, I knew 4 of the kids playing in the game and wasn't about to let them score on me. And since the field was great and grass and safe to dive/slide. On the first attempt I took out one of the kids grabbed the ball and then picked him up. Everyone was shocked. And I proceeded to make one diving save and stop 5 or 6 more. At half time all of the Ministers including the Deputy Prime Minister, who was playing in the game (think Joe Biden), were all impressed with my play and since no goals were allowed it was exciting.

Post half time the girls came in for the boys and I was subbed out for the Minister of Housing. Anyway, I seem to be making a name for myself over here in soccer and most of it is luck, good timing and the fact that I really do know what I am doing regarding soccer.

I should make the papers. ( One Pitch, Many People game was the theme of the event) And lots of fun was had by all and the kids got more HIV awareness information (that unfortunately at this point in their lives is getting redundant but is still very important to keep giving it to them.) Oh, and I was very sore for the previous days game. And this made two days in a row I played on a field in a real uniform. But this time in my familiar goalie uniform.
