< Swazi definition - Skirting = Generally a dark brown strip of paint that surrounds the lower part of the house with the intention of hiding the dirt splatter that happens from rain. > (Every home with paint has one.)
This Social Center is just filled with all kinds of colors the interior rooms, several painted weeks ago, some today as it was raining, all have different shades. Frankly, it is amazing that it looks this color coordinated cause as Titi I joked today, we made plans for many parts of the building (many back up one that we haven't had to use) but the one part we completely missed was color coordination.
So below are the series of pictures of how the building looked on Sunday, Tues, Wed, & Thurs. (in that order top to bottom)
And the view from the street. 1st taken a couple of weeks ago and 2nd taken on Wed
And some different angles of the building showing the skirting. The skirting in the front is intention higher normal cause of the kids and their dirty hands and helps keep the Center looking cleaner. (You can notice the change in height on the picture directly below on the right.)
What a wonderful story ... I like the "skirting" design ... makes sense.
