SSCS Part 13 (Laptop saves a team)

So today is the big team meeting to announce the Top 8 teams, also since the fisaco of the deadline pushing, we had to give the teams a chance at contesting an results.

So I printed out 9130 votes, 200 pages, for the managers to look at and had laptop able to search those records for any phone numbers to verify they were correctly accounted for.

So at the meeting of like 30 team mangers, the FA )Football Assocaiation)officials were running the meeting. We discovered a major math error for one of the teams where 400 votes were missed. this meeting was designed by your truely to do just this. So using the Excel to search for phone numbers & names, we discovered that is was xause of a typo on the senders part. But since this was common we were not disqualifing votes but including them. MTN stepped up big time to help solve the issue So the Top 8 had to be changed up. Of couse, this took an hr and everyone else wanted their numbers confirmed which we did. Finding 4 teams totals were right both on the page & computer & the 1 wrong. So that was major STRESS and HARD Work. But the Swazi's in charge did the right thing with the decision to change up the Top 8 to the corect voting.

The deadline BS from yesterday was a major factor in this meeting, well in yesterdays meeting is it was discovered the communications manager messed up by extending it. Which has caused at least 2 grey hairs on my head.

So one team got dropped and the other which had over 700 votes got bumped up. Justice. And I stood up and told every in the meeting about the mistake. And cause of the laptop search abilities a team was saved from missing out on a tournament. It was extremely hard and fulfilling day and the FA chairman is my knew favorite person here in Swaziland cuase he made the right choice to change up the Top 8.

So as I was walking home the communications officer, who didn't make it down to the event, called and asked if I could email the pictures to the press and send them comments directly since the deadline was 5pm and it just before that.

So I wrote it giving credit where credit is do and making sure that the charity money goes to the AMICAALL Shiselweni Social Centers.

What a day. 2 days in a row the FA chairman has literally saved the day. I have decied since I am no longer coaching that I going to work with the FA to run some coaching classes for players starting with goalies (and mix in HIV). That is 2012 project.

WOW is all I can say about today. And we see if I am newspaper reporter tomorrow.
