Nhlangano Day #6

Supposed to leave to go back in the AM, plans changed cause I get to be apart of a gormal introduction to the mayor and the entire city coucil at a city council meeting. My office is in the Town Council Building. Good thing I have degree in Political Science, Thank You Syracuse University.

Spend most of the day with Timbaokosi at SYNC, Timbaokosi is now my adoptive counterpart & I am sticking my nose into his side of the government.
Introduction goes Great, they speak in English just for me. By the way everyone pretty much speaks excellent English, so it is no probably communicating. But I really need to learn their language, but they talk in English often amongst themselves.

The Mayor & the Housing Minister are on the hunt for housing for me.

I pay Dennis & Thembokosi gas money to drive me back to my homestead. It is a 2 hr drive from the bottom of the country to the top, it is smaller then New Jersey. Lots of laughs along the way.

We stop in mBanbane to meet the SYNC CEO, in a very nice office, this is a huge introduction for someone is basically only 4 days into a visit for a job that I will start at the end of month.

I arrive "home" to my place with no power to discover a mouse has taken up residence in my place, after several misdirections I finally scared him out the door. His shit is everywhere and he munched on a box of raw oats for making oatmeal.

I am already home sick for new home in Nhlangano, even though I don't have one there. It is funny the transition from America to this no power homestead was easy, compared to coming back to it after being in a city in a nice place. UGH!!!
