Social Center Part 2 (Day #1 Constuction Starts)

So to review the Ward 4 Social Center application was started in January, the Nhlangano Town Council agreed to Partner in March, after 4 drafts the App was approved the day before I left for the States in Mid-May, 2 days late when I actually arrived in the states it was up on the PC website, donations flowed into until it was complete at the beginning of September. The funds where transferred to me 2 wks ago. And today Oct 18th. Finishing the Ward 4 Social Center officially began.

Above pictured on the left is Titi and on the right Dennis. These are both the Project Directors, both work for AMICAALL, both are my friends, Titi is Black Terror of course Dennis resigned at the same time I did. I have known both since the day I arrived in Nhlangano. And they are my link to finishing this project on budget and on time. Not pictured is Sabelo who is a trained accountant and will be handling all of the paperwork/books for the project.

So yesterday, we meet if a Swazi contractor in order to hire him for doing a lot of the work at on the Social Center. The partnership is that the Nhlangano Town Council handles purchasing the doors & windows, its possible we may work an agreement where I purchase them and they repay me, more details on this one to come. And the funds from America handle the rest.

An interesting deal has been worked out that allowed us to start this project today. The contractor Mr. Maszinga has agreed to move into the spare room, pay rent, work as security in the evening and generally look after the Center. This is great in many ways, saves money, assures that he will be on time and lots of other benefits.

So in order for him to move in we have to fit the windows in the spare room of the Social Center. So we purchased just those 2 window frames and he finished installing them both today, no window panes yet and no door those are for Day #2.

we hired some local ladies to do some general clean up of the site for the next 2 days.

And as the Joker said "Here We Go"

The first Window going in

The 2nd Window almost completed
