Back to 5th Place.
So well I was gone the team dropped from 5th to 7th but only out of 4th place by 3 points.
With today's win we are up again.
And another crazy game that I will probably never have to coach again.
So I was late this game, thinking the game started at 5:15, when it was scheduled for 15:15 or 3:15, I was late for all of the prep but not the game. There was a five in the time.
So anyway, we only had 11 players and no subs for the game. And the other team started the game with 8 players (the minimum allowed). We scored right away and then the defense stopped paying attention and the goalie went to sleep. And they scored a goal on us where the goalie just screwed up, and it was on drills we had done numerous times, I wouldn't let him blame it on the defense. So with our team up now 11 to 9 its 1-1, we score again and that same thing happens, goalie is asleep at the wheel, a silly goal he doesn't even try for. 2-2. UGH!!!
We play great when we are man down, but put us a man up an stupidity happens. Well, we scored one more right before half.
I give the goalie a good yelling at and encourage a lot more shooting.
2nd half starts we get an early goal, so now its 4-2 and the other team is tired and just playing defense. We get another goal 5-2 and guess what happens again another totally stupid goal is let in.
Even when we win and have 2 man advantage we can't play very well against a team ranked below us, but put us against a better team with a man down and we play great.
Figuring this one is beyond me.
Anyway, 3 points with 5 goals looks good on paper.
There are 3 games left and we are guaranteed a winning season.
