Game #24 11-9-3 43 Points - 5th Place

Down a Man Twice

In the never ending saga of the Black Terrors.

It seems that we can't seem to field a full team, yet. We don't lose. So game #4 of 4 in 7 days is against the #3 ranked team and was rescheduled to 9:00 AM. Another game against a really good team at 9:00, the team is pretty much convinced that the FA is trying very hard to cause the Terrors to lose. Mostly cause they don't like are team and its fans.

So we scrap together 12 players for the morning game. For about a half hour between 8 & 830 we only had 3 players but the rest showed up just barely.

So we start the game and the same player who caused us to play with 10 men on Saturday, got some nice shoes from some where. About half through the first half he is sitting down and comes out the game, the boots he is wearing are ripped completely apart. CRAP BOOTS, poorly made. Anyway it takes us about 5 minutes to determine that he can't go back in and there are no other options for shoes. So I put my one and only reserve in before half time. Oh, an in the time we are down to10 man the the other team gets a crazy crap goal on a defensive error.

UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So our team just before the end of the 1st half gets a really excellent goal to make it 1-1 tye at half.

We make a couple of adjustments and for most of the 2nd half seem to play on there side of the field, we even get a penalty kick that is missed. Several breakaways that the oppoent keeper make some great saves. But basically we are in the catgory of beating them.

And then the player I subbed in for the player with busted shoes gets a straight red card for cleaning the clock of a player, pretty much deserved, it wasn't vicious just hard. So back to 10 men AGAIN. Enough already.

At least the team is used to it and adapts pretty well, but we lose much of are attack. At the very last minute one of the forwards gets a breakaway one on one with the keeper, but the keeper makes a great save and the referee calls the game.

A 1-1 Draw but really quite a disappointment.

  1. Too bad about the tie ... but it's not a loss. I get exhausted reading your blog ... if it isn't one thing, it's another. Thanks for the update.
