Xai Xai, Moz

We head out to go to the beach up the coast at placed called Xai Xai (google it). Now in Swaziland the bus/Khumbi ranks are crazy but this one in Maputo was insane. Thousands of people & their stuff and hundreds of buses, mini vans, khumbis, cars, taxis all ready to take people out of the city, of course there is a consent stream of people, vehicles coming in also. A couple in our group speak Spanish so it works pretty well. Moz is a Portuguese speaking country with many Bantu (an African language, Swazi is Zulu based) languages also being spoken. Since there are 7 of us we cut a deal to take the back half of a Khumbi and the front rows goes to some Moz men,

It is almost a 4 hour drive crammed in small seat, hot, hungry and the Moz men are drinking. No real drama but by the time we arrive in Xai Xai they literally plastered and when they all get out to walk all fall down drunk, they had been sitting drinking for 4 hours also. Was funny cause none of them could walk straight nor stand up easily.

We paid the driver extra money to takes us to our beach front oasis of a resort. The place we booked was literally on the beach. The 2 room house with a kitchen & bathroom and amazing deck was on stilts so it would over look the sand berm and the view was of the Indian Ocean. So within a couple of hours we were swimming in it. Now I have swam in 3 of 4 major oceans of the world. And we run into a group Peace Corp Moz people who are on vacation in a house next to our. We are 7 they are 22, so that was a lot of Americans all in one place. Finished Cussler book #6 his very first Dirk Pitt book The Mediterranean Caper

I chose to sleep on the deck with the ocean breeze instead of the bed.
