Back to school in Ignonini

Anyway, now that we all were out of the bubble of training & just with Swazi people, no Americans were with me during the whole previous week. I am really starting to get excited to get thrown into the fire.

By the way there are 12 other PCV's living in the surronding area around the town I am working in so I will be having many guests over night at my place as they come into town for the day. So I am not completely isolated

But the PC reminded us this morning that we still have a lot to learn and cant be very effective until we truely integrate into the areas we will be living in.

I am very pleased with my appointed job and placement, Brian & Stella the placement officers did a great job.

BUT THE HOUSING ISSUE IS COMPLETELY UP IN THE AIR.

Had to interrupt my journaling to scare the mouse out of my house again. Although, I had help from the 12 year old girl, it was pretty damn funny.

  2. two basic comments: the word (45 years ago) was "discretion"... because you will find that you are now in never never land in that the Swazi's know you are not a swazi and therefore dont really expect you to live totally on their cultural norms... but you are also not living as "americans"... so in essence you will live in a world where you kind of create your own cultural imperatives...ergo.. the word discretion....
