Uneventful trip to Atlanta.

Uneventful trip to Atlanta. Tomorrow the real stuff begins with orientation, passport & paperwork stuff. By the way just to visit South Africa & Swaziland no shots are needed. Although, I will be getting the full battery of them in country, anyway.

I did have an interesting conversation with my seat mates on the plane, one was a retired LA County worker who has literally cruised (as in taken a cruise ship) around the world twice, a in between college and law school kid who just finished living (as a student) aboard for a year in Australia. And of course me in doing the mid-career shift. It was a really interesting flight. But over all I am surprised that it doesn't quite feel real yet.

I got an amazing send off from my family, with a airport visit also from a serious Peace Corp veteran of 40 years, Charlie Escoffrey. My family literally watched my plane fly away in the distance from a hill near the airport.

I miss them all already.
